Journey's End Alternate Ending

I wasn't very satisfied with the very end of the Doctor Who episode "Journey's End", so I decided to write my own. It's very short. It didn't need to be long.

You could say it has spoilers.

---------------------------------------------------------

He closed the door and took his wet jacket off as he walked up the ramp. He was alone again. Donna was gone, lost to him. The rain pouring down outside was quite appropriate given his mood.

There was nothing for it though. He could only go on, keep on traveling. He walked over to the controls and started moving levers and pushing buttons. The familiar sounds of the TARDIS started up and he was on his way. Despite everything that had happened, though, the thrill of it was beginning to creep back into him, encouraged by the sounds of the ship. He slowly started to smile.

Donna may not be able to remember him, but she was alive. They were all alive. Rose, Jackie, Mickey, Martha, Jack, Sarah, and Donna. Alive. He was smiling widely now, and running around the console adjusting things.

There was a loud bang and he was suddenly lying on the floor. His entire body felt like it was on fire. It made no sense. It wasn’t possible. He was regenerating.

He snapped awake. The TARDIS was quite. He scrambled to his feet and raced to the closet. The mirror was there. The man in the mirror wasn’t the same as before. He had indeed regenerated.

“WHAT?!”

-- THE END --
